Athletics & Extracurriculars

NCCA Athletics exists to support the school’s vision of being a grace-based community that models and promotes Christ-like transformation and high-quality education. Through competitive sports, we seek to cultivate character, perseverance, teamwork, and humility while helping students learn to glorify God in all they do.

Our athletic program partners with families to develop essential life skills such as discipline, leadership, resilience, and service to others. Coaches intentionally mentor students to pursue excellence with integrity, demonstrating Christ-like attitudes in both victory and defeat.

Grounded in Biblical truth and centered on Christ as the foundation of wisdom and understanding, NCCA Athletics strives to develop the whole student and equip them to compete well, lead faithfully, and represent Christ in every arena of life.

Each sport aims to be self-supporting financially and to increase New Covenant's exposure across the region and state. We are open to adding sports and activities as resources and opportunities become available.

For the 2026-27 year, these are the teams we have:

Cross Country for 2nd-12th grade boys & girls (June-October)

Volleyball for 5th through 12th grade girls (July-October)

Archery for 4th-12th boys & girls (September-March)

Basketball for 6th-12th boys & girls (October-February)

Cheerleading for 6th-12th girls (October-February)

Basketball for K-5th boys & girls (Feburary & March)

Junior Cheer for 2nd-5th grade girls (Feburary & March)

Golf for 5th-12th girls & boys (March-May)

Track for 6th-12th girls & boys (March-May)

All of our JV and varsity teams compete in the Kentucky Christian Athletic Association, except our varsity boys’ basketball team, which is in its last year with the Kentucky Christian Schools Athletic Association.

Last year we added Fellowship of Christian Athletes to the mix. You may wonder why a Christian school needs more Jesus, but Jesus wins and that changes everything, including our student-athletes. Being able to equip middle & high school athletes to use their sports as tools to share the gospel has been such a blessing. And I’m excited for this partnership to develop even more. Our FCA student leaders are seniors Eli Stanger and Hadley Davis as well as juniors George Thomas and Charlee Jackson.

This year includes 10 (!!!) senior athletes, our first-ever home cross country meet on our brand-new trail, lots of volleyball games, many basketball games back at Northside Baptist Church in Almo, titles to defend, and whatever else God brings our way.
